WHAT IS RYD?
RYD is a distributed network of mostly EV Vehicles, which began operating in 2023 in our region, with Queenstown locations including a number of key hotels and public parking centres.
The team behind RYD aim to unburden our region from the need to own vehicles by providing shared mobility that works better for people, businesses and the planet – with an electric first approach.
OUR FLEET
Our fleet currently includes a range of Hyundai Kona’s and Teslas located around the Queenstown district, with future ambitions to extend our service more widely across the Southern Lakes, Central Otago and Wanaka.
OUR SERVICE
Our service is a totally keyless, car hire by the hour service, where visitors, business and the community can seamlessly book a vehicle on the RYD App on a predetermined or last-minute basis, paying only for the time they need and use the vehicle.
No paperwork, no long check in process, no added costs for insurance – in fact we even pay for the charging, with each car equipped with a ChargeNet Fob that enables our customer to charge at any station across the ChargeNet or BP Network totally free.
The service is unlimited in km travelled and suitable for multi day hires as well - with rates starting from just $9 per hour (after 8pm) and $19 per hour (during the day).

RYD are pleased to have partnered with Puzzling World, as together we believe we can help bridge the gap in transport between Queenstown and Wanaka and enable visitors to access one of the greatest experience icons of our wider region.
